
Michael Green
is currently living in Nashville, TN. He
earned a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial
Music from
Belmont University in Nashville, TN where he
studied under Chester Thompson. He was
awarded a fellowship to
attend the University of South Florida in
Tampa, Florida where he studied under Danny
Gottlieb and
earned a Master’s Degree in Jazz
Performance. After attending graduate
school Michael moved back to
Nashville, TN and landed the drum chair with
country music star Ricky Van Shelton. He is
the editor of Mel
Bay’s Percussion Session webzine and is
currently working on educational books in
collaboration with
Danny Gottlieb on behalf of Mel Bay
Publications.
Michael
performs with various local talents
including

Nashville Jazz Orchestra,
- Jeff
Cofin,
- Jim
Williamson,
- Jamie
Simmons,
- Don
Alico,
- and many
others.
Michael has
been featured on
- the
Grand Ole Opry,
- NPR’s
Live in Studio C,
- the
Watertown Jazz Festival,
- and the
General Jackson Showboat.
Michael is
currently teaching at Broadway Studio for
the Performing Arts in Nashville, TN and at
Spring Hill Music in Spring Hill, TN.
Michael has proudly endorsed Regal Tip
drumsticks since 1999.
